After many years of using automatic dish detergent that you pour yourself, I switched to the Cascade “Complete” packets. The rinse aid is already in the packet along with just the “right” amount of detergent. I will never go back to the boxed powder again!

And if you try the Finish Quantum Powerballs you will never use Cascade again!

Congrats on the new appliances Thumper!

No heated dry on the Bosch means that there is no issue with plastic on the top OR the bottom rack. That makes up for the few drops of water that you have to dab at in the wells of glasses at the end of a cycle. I don’t even have to do that if I don’t unload immediately. If you want to maximize drying, use auto cycle and sanitize. And yes, always keep it filled with rinse aid.

I love the versatility of the silverware basket on my Bosch. It can be separated into two parts and placed wherever there is room or kept together and slid to any position. My model also has a third rack on top for silverware (not sure if that’s what you are talking about getting used to). Originally didn’t think I would like it , but find it’s much easier to unload than I thought.

Second Finish Quantum. Nothing else compares.

Please buy Wolf and Sub-Zero products. Keep Madisonians employed.

From their website:

The “Paris of south-central Wisconsin.” Indeed, that’s us.

I’m also a Finish Quantum convert!

^^^ We went with Subzero and Wolf appliances. I personally would not spend the same kind of money on Viking.

If I use Finish quantum, the dishwasher won’t know my jet dry is included because its not in the reservoir. Is that an issue?

Finish Quantum samples came with the Bosch. My silverware holder is one piece, goes along the right side of the lower rack. My old dishwasher had a rectangle in the center front of the lower rack. I have a 300 series Bosch…not top of the line, but it was well rated and was on sale the day I bought my appliances!

tsdad, I didn’t know you were in Madison, nor did I know that that’s where Wolf and Subzero are.

If I tell Wolf and Subzero that one of my kids lives in Madison, will they give me a discount? :p

No…

I’ll try Finish Quantum next time I need to re-stock. Thanks for the tip!

Thumper, I think you have to use the Jet Dry either way.

Thumper - Happy to hear of your progress. Enjoy!

I did my part last year, tsdad. Bought nine Wolf/Sub-Zero appliances for our kitchen when we did our reno.

Thumper, enjoy your new kitchen!

I also have the Bosch - still use Jet Dry even with the Powerballs. Without, silverware looks okay for everyday family use, but I find myself looking for spots on spoons when we have company over. The difference is slight, but it’s there.

Thumbs up to alwaysmom!
