There’s no point in applying to most schools because I am separated (almost divorced) from DD’s father. The man is useless. Not only would he not support her one dime past her 18th birthday (and he owes me a LOT of back support that I’ll probably never see), he most likely wouldn’t fill out his end of the annual financial aid paperwork. Therefore, DD is locked out of applying to any school that uses non-custodial parent financial information. (That’s most of the top schools.)</p>
