<p>The criteria for receiving an appointment to USAFA is so high that if anyone would walk away from an appointment because another school made an offer first, the slot would be filled very quickly by another highly qualified candidate. USAFA doesn’t take simply the “Best and Brightest”. They take the “Best and Brightest” who also are very physically fit, are leaders in their chosen activities, and have what the ALOs and Board think it takes to become an officer in the US Air Force.</p>
<p>I would also venture that anyone who would turn down an appointment because another school made an offer first would have a hard time making it through the Academy. You need to really want to be there more than anywhere else.</p>
