<p>H is also a coin collector, so it has a personal meaning to him.</p>
<p>Both of my sons are Eagle Scouts and gifts were few. They both received gift cards and cash from family members and a couple of very close friends though.</p>
<p>Also don’t remember eagle scout son getting gifts. Maybe a gift card or 2. I like the donation idea- and you can make it to the Boy Scouts of America if you are ok with that. Was the project for a volunteer organization of any kind? Did the grandfather have an illness that has a charitable organization where donations can be made?</p>
A donation to his troop, or another favorite charity of his would be great. ScoutStuff.org has some things, too. On Etsy and ClassB.com you can find special congratulatory cards. Most of them are suitable for framing, so perhaps a frame to go along with your card?
My son’s Court of Honor is coming up and we are putting on the invitation “The only gift expected is the honor of your presence or a note of congratulations.”
The “Book of Man” in the Boy Scout edition would be wonderful!
