April ACT Official Reading Thread

I put down to earth. It talked about how genial he was, his “big blue eyes and generous smile,” and how he offered them both a poster. Don’t ask why I remember a specific quote…that’s creepyy =/ lol

In the women’s passage where she cuts the page out of the book with a knife, I can’t remember the exact question but I had an answer something to the tune of her overprotective parents caused her to act up at home and at school, did anyone else get that?

were the choices “down to earth” and “bashfulness and discomfort” answers to the same question?

I think they were two different qs…yea they were cause I put down to earth as well as the discomfort

No I didn’t get that. I put another answer choice because saying she had overprotective parents which cause her to act up is such a ridic jump. There was another answer option, I forget the wording, which made a lot more sense.

Did anyone put the answer about the kids heartbreak for the hank williams one? I forgot the question, but I couldn’t figure it out

Yeah it was heart-break. In the last paragraph it mentioned that he could never understand his lyrics as an eleven year old boy because he hadn’t gone through the same “scarring” of heart or whatever

What were the other options for the down to earth one? I dont think I put “down to earth”

yeah I put the heartbreak, the rest didn’t really make sense.

What about the question in the first passage about the movie usher job and the animation studio job? Which one was more enjoyable?

it was animation studio

and for the “down to earth” one

I didnt say that

I remember putting down that Hank was rebellious. Anyone else agree?

it was the animation studio. the paragraph began with like the most enjoyable job he had.

I put down to earth, there was nothing in the reading that would portray him as ‘rebellious’

Yeah, it’s definitely down to earth

I put Hank being rebellious as well idk because he was wearing cowboy stuff and had a pink car. What about the one that asked what didn’t the b-company do (that made kiddy films). Do you guys remember?

Oh I thought his pink Cadillac and cowboy hat made him rebellious

It was that they didn’t showcase movies shown in his theatre. You could use POE or look at that paragraph that said none of the films in his animation studio were showed anywhere

i ran out of time on the prose section guessed on half of it. oh well hoping for a 28+

down to earth was my guess. im almost sure it was the correct answer.

I thought that Hank was definitely down to earth. It was because of his speech patterns. I kept reading everything he said in my head with a really deep southern accent.
