APs and UC Transferring?

I passed with a 3 on following subjects:

Calculus AB
Biology
US History
World History
Government
English Language
Literature

ALL with 3. Of course, UCLA won’t accept a score of 3 for some AP exams, so I was at first worried. But I asked the counselor regarding the AP credits.
My counselor personally contacted the UCLA admissions office regarding the issue, and she got a response from UCLA admissions official there that if I use the AP credits to fulfill some of the IGETC requirement, then I’ll have no problem in the future. That’s the advantage of IGETC. If you have score of 3 for any AP exams, they can be used to fulfill some of the requirements for the IGETC.

That’s how i get to skip English 101 and went straight to English 103 (UCLA BizEcon pre-req). However, UCLA demanded a letter grade for pre-reqs, meaning they won’t accept AP credits for those, so I had to take Calculus I (although that’s not the only reason why i took it) even though I passed it with AP exam.

So yeah, take advantage of your AP credits. Because of AP credits, I’ve already had like 5 IGETC courses done before I even started my first year at cc. Hope this helped!
