New Right was the opposite of the New Left. I really don’t know.

Black Panther Party was formed at around the time of Martin Luther King Jr. They were very radical and often proposed burning down buildings in the name of civil rights.

Civil Rights 1960’s ???!?!?!?

what did the civil rights commission of 1957 do?

What was the most important part of Wilson’s 14 points and why didn’t US want to accept it?

14 points included formation of league of nations, self-determination for nations, free navigation of the seas etc
and senators [like lodge] didn’t want US to be involved with foreign affairs through the league of nations

brown v. board made integration of schools. edit/ also repealed plessy v. ferguson: ‘seperate but equal’ policy

civil rights act also made segregation illegal in all public facilities, including hotels, restaurants, etc.

voting rights act also provided for the guaranteed african-american vote

What was the most important part of Wilson’s 14 points and why didn’t US want to accept it?

Wilson called for a League of Nations but members of Congress feared that if US joined it would get sucked into international business and be unable to make its own decisions. Henry Cabot Lodge offered some compromises but Wilson stubbornly refused, leading to its demise.

what’s “supply-side economics”?

oh and i doubt dbq’s/free responses are gonna be about the 60’s, they’re mainly about the 1800’s so don’t worry too much. however, don’t quote me on this :)

With the Civil Rights Movement - be sure to note Truman’s acceptance of the NAACP and how he was one of the first presidents to actively defend civil rights —was attempted by Kennedy but failed b/c of the whole Southern Democrats drama —and was later continued by Eisenhower who passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Supply-side economics, otherwise known as Reaganomics argued for tax cuts for the wealthy so they can, in turn, invest in the economy. (Trickle-down effect) Didn’t really work out for the poor while the rich only got richer.

Another note the civil rights movement: Truman also desegregated the military.

so pretty much the dbq is an impromptu research paper, where the documents they give me are sources, and i can use other info?

oh and where can i find sample dbq’s (student written), i can’t seem to find out on CB, they just give outlines of what you need for a top score.
