Colleges are not obligated to keep up with the swings of the market by adding or dropping programs from year to year. Can you imagine how chaotic that would be? Just because a field has more supply than demand now doesn’t mean it will always be that way, and it’s silly to take marketing statements like “Our program offers great job opportunities” at face value without doing any research – won’t every program everywhere say that?
