Are there alot of nyc students at cornell?

<p>While that may have an element of truth to it, I don’t think it is simply that there is more diversity in white physical appearance. I think it has more to do with the fact that white people are a majority here, so it doesn’t really stand out when white people clump together (in fact, it is natural). And in my experience visiting and living in various parts of Asia, the situation there is similar, except completely reversed: Asian people don’t think of themselves as clumping together (much like white people here do not), though groups of other ethnicity naturally stand out.</p>

<p>im asian and i actually dont feel like there are that many asians in cornell, 16% seem right. a plant sci class i took wihch had 30 people only had 4 asians in the class</p>

<p>i get a feeling there are more koreans though not sure if you are. it also depends on country of origin
a chinese friend in ILR feels surrounded by koreans. </p>

<p>i’m mexican-american and definitely few around (though they are there if you look)</p>

<p>i would say there are enough asians in AEM to be representative of the cornell campus. in fact, the incoming freshman class (at least last year) was, surprisingly, a rather accurate portrayal of the ethnic breakdowns at cornell, imo.</p>
