Are there useless majors?

There aren’t useless majors because there will always be some sort of demand for a person with that kind of degree. Universities need to make money and as a business, they wouldn’t want to provide a service that gives no return.

If you want to see how different fields of study gets utilized in different ways, you should check out this program I work with called Beyond the Blue at Boise State University. It’s a series of podcasts from Boise State professors about their academic work, such as the DNA forensics professor who contributed to the Amanda Knox trial.
