Are Women's Colleges still needed? Article from Washington Post

<p>Well … my daughter had eliminated both women’s colleges and LACs off her short list … and after visiting ended up applying to Barnard ED. When I was an undergrad I would have argued against women’s colleges as a crutch … but over the last 30 years, as President Spar said, I’ve come to realize women’s colleges work. Women I meet who I am impressed with are way disproportionately from women’s colleges … bottom line they produce a ton of self-confident terrific women. I do not know how or why … and don’t care how or why … I just hope the magic works for my daughter also!</p>

<p>(PS - President Spar is terrific … other than asking us tuition paying parents for donations on top of the bursar’s bill)</p>
