Aren’t preforming artists/musicians usually the type of people that are classified as hipsters in the first place?

And it seems like Crown Heights and Bed-Stuy are the new hipster neighborhoods.

Looks like Spike Lee hates hipsters
<a href=“Spike Lee rants on hipsters, gentrification”>http://nypost.com/2014/02/26/spike-lee-rants-on-hipsters-brooklyns-gentrification/
Is mo fo a hyphenated word?

That’s because Spike Lee is a hipster wannabe. I mean, look at the guy. No wonder he is angry. He is a black hipster, a " blipster"

Isnt he too old to be a hipster?
Hes old enough to be a grandpa!

Hahaha… Yep. And that makes him angry too! Spike Lee is just one angry blipster wannabe.

Nice pic, ek, btw.

Hes a curmudgeon, its just that now, hes old enough to be one.

Thanks, I usually dont like my photos, I always blink or Im looking at something else.

Spike Lee’s remarks express the same anger and concerns about how hipsters are gentrifying and thus, pushing poorer long-time poorer residents out of their neighborhoods I’ve heard from friends who have been pushed out/are struggling against being pushed out of their old neighborhoods because they’ve became hipster scenes.

I will grant you he’s probably not the best person in one sense considering he’s “made it” whereas in another sense, his fame does mean those expressed views will gain more exposure.

In my experience (Seattle area) there are cutting edge hipsters who find something quirky to do ironically in a fun and lighthearted way then there is a great mass of followers who lack the true sense of fun and irony and are just WAY too serious about their beards, caps and lumberjack boots (or, as emeraldkitty pointed out, the provenance of their coffee beans). If you are going to look ridiculous on top of that unicycle, at least pretend that you are doing it ironically
I recently saw a guy riding away from Whole Foods during the lunch hour, across a major intersection with freeway onramp turning motions, carrying a little Whole Foods lunch sack . . . on a unicycle. He looked completely serious.
