Are you ready for some March Madness!!!!

^That’s interesting. That would make sense except that the ball went through the hoop with 2.0 sec left and the clock went down to 1.6 sec before they stopped it. It wouldn’t have made any difference anyway, but it’s a bad way for the game to end.

Not a Carolina fan so it doesn’t break my heart. Guess UVA is all that’s left to carry the ACC banner.

Louisville is scheduled to join ACC next year.

Both D1’s Aztecs and S2’s Bruins survived to the Sweet Sixteen. My brackets are awful (especially Henry’s the Wofford Terriers and Albany Great Danes really let him down), but my kids are happy.

The problem wasn’t when the clock was stopped, but that it wasn’t started for ~2 seconds on the play leading up to the basket.

I hated to see Kentucky beat WSU. That was the low point for me. Kentucky beating ANYONE is horrible, but I hated to see Wichita State go down.

^^^Agreed! I would have loved to have seen those kids go on. And if they did have to lose, why, oh why did if have to be to Kentucky!

Agree on both counts.

I posted this on another forum- “I know it is immature for someone my age to hate an entire basketball team, but yet I do.”

The only plus was that I’ve had pneumonia, and I knew I was on the mend when I was yelling out to the TV during game.

MOWC, I haven’t seen you on CC in awhile. I’m glad to see you back, even if you are hating on Kentucky (my alma mater). I won’t hold it against any of you. I gave up basketball this season after Vandy got down to 7 scholarship players and also because I hate the SEC expansion. While I loved my Wildcats in the glory days way back, I have trouble mustering any excitement for the “One and Dones” and even this UK alum felt a bit bad seeing Witchita State lose. I will gather my Kentucky pride to cheer on the Cats against Louisville, though. I detest Pitino and the Cardinals like some of you dislike Kentucky

I’ve still been here on CC and post most every day- at least on the Exercise thread. Still a die-hard Vandy (and IU) basketball fan. I loved our 7 scholarship players- and our 2 awesome walk-ons who saved the day on a couple of occasions. High hopes for next year with great recruits coming in and the great experience our two freshman got this year. Damian Jones will be one of the best Bigs ever in the SEC in a few years! It was a tough season, but I was there at every home game!

I did a bracket for the first time ever. It’s in pretty bad shape, but as long as my team is still in, it’s all good. Go Blue!

I wonder how much money Warren Buffett made for the billion dollar prize to anyone who got every game right? That was the easiest money he ever made. You could get hit by lightening before anyone could win that contest.

Does UCLA normally have sleeved jerseys? They look so weird.

The sleeved jerseys are just for the tournament.

One of the important factors in sports these days is to develop game clothing that can be worn as street wear. Basketball had had the great advantage that the shoes are suitable for everyday wear, which has been instrumental to Nike’s success over the years. While some people like the open armpit look, I think there are some areas that may still prefer sleeves to sleeveless. :)

You said it, Dadx. It’s clear that in recent years a lot of the showcasing of new “alternative” uniforms is being driven by marketing/merchandising and we can thank or blame Phil Knight for that. Incidentally, some NBA teams have introduced sleeved jerseys lately and many players, LeBron James among them, reportedly hate them with a passion; so much so that the new NBA commissioner is likely to do away with them after the current season.

Sleeved jerseys cannot be easy to play in. The smallest bit of resistance on your shoulder like that can make a big difference.

Despite the hit to my bracket and my dislike for the ACC will be pulling for home state boy Tony Bennett and UVA.
