Area Studies (warren GE)

@oneday: Most Area Studies are pre-defined to a certain set of classes within a department. The Warren Advisors and the Warren Handbook (you’ll get it at orientation) can tell you all the information you should need. All Area Studies are listed; basically, you can’t create your own, you must choose from the college’s offerings.

@infamy: Yes, but it’s as simple as telling your academic advisor “this is the area study I’m doing,” and then she’ll tell you the classes you must take, and then you take the classes, and you’re done. You can change it, do whatever with it, but you must complete them both before graduation.

@MrSpam: The minor will only exempt you from a PofC or AS in that particular study area. For instance, I am a CS major (Science/Engineering), and I may declare a Theater minor (Humanities). This I still must complete an AS in Social Studies.
