Argh! Auto Bruglarized in Millbrae!

So sorry for the loss in my town, well, where I lived for 12 years and still own a house there. I heard from my tenants that the crime become more prevalent in recent years. Millbrae has become such a wealthy town that attracted a lot of attention to the thieves. The in and out plaza is easy access to 101 that no wonder become a play ground for criminals. Before I moved, I was very involved with local matters, I have been friends with all town officials, include many police officers. We did not have much crime then.

However, crime is every where, In SF, D just had her car broke in and they took her wallet and laptop. Widows smashed.

@HImom Glad to hear son made it back to DC!

During the crime wave era (1970s to 1990s), theft of visible valuables left in cars (and other theft) was probably far worse in most places than it is now. There was also the problem then that most cars did not come from the factory with decent radios, so aftermarket radios were common, and commonly targeted by thieves.

Is it driven by a petty crime wave or more by drug addicts? My guess is the latter.

The sherrif firmly believes it is druggies and also believes some consider this break and grab style a “profession” and way of life.
