My daughter initially wanted to attend an art school-but I encouraged her to get a “regular” degree.
She ultimately took a few art courses, however art materials and time to make art is difficult for non majors no matter how great the studio.
She took a year off after junior year- so technically she will be taking 5 years to graduate but one of those years she wasn’t at Reed. I don’t know how people would pay for 6 years .
I agree that many who transfer may leave after freshman year. It is small and it is rigourous. That is mentioned in all the flyers ;), but people may not realize how much that makes a difference until you are there.</p>
