Stanford takes their supplements very seriously…and the reason why they want “live” UNEDITED video music performances is to eliminate any potential for “cheating”…because with the technology as it is…it is very easy for so-called not so spectacular musicians to have someone else perform their pieces and submit them (audio recording) as their “own” or have their not so great performances (audio recordings) edited to the hilt before they submit them…</p>
<p>…either way, this is called fraud…and Stanford tries very hard to prevent this…to give every musician an honest evaluation based on their TRUE talents and their many awards and accomplishments. This is also why Stanford is the only school among its elite peers (that is non-conservatory) to offer LIVE auditions as well in different regions of the country each application cycle…</p>
<p>…and last but not least…those exceptionally talented musicians (commonly associated with major youth orchestras and pre-college conservatories throughout the country) usually have “regular” video-tapings of their performances throughout their high school career…and don’t need to wait for the last minute to “make a recording”…</p>
