It’s a real bunch of words-
writ-old fashioned/shortened form of written, though few people get that and think it should be write
on
the
transom-this is the back part of a boat where you’d write its name (though it can also mean something like a window above a door)

Get it? If someone asks me what my name is, I can say “It’s writonthetransom.”

Do you think your addiction to CC is bad enough that you should join a support group?

Well, considering that I managed to crank out a decent report for the Siemens competition over my vacation, in spite of CC, I think the answer is “no.”

Were you a little worried that this thread had died yesterday?

I was worried that this thread would die three weeks ago with my departure.
I’m glad it hasn’t died yet.

Do you know what Diwali/Deepawali is?

Wiki tells me it is a major Hindu holiday signifying the conquest of good over evil. I love Wiki.

Have you seen chariots of fire?

It’s also the festival of lights and when I lived in India, there was a great deal of celebration with firecrackers and fanfare. Woop!

Do you go to church every week? (or synagogue, or whatever)

No. I have never been except for communions, bar mitzvahs, and the like.

What was the best fad: pogs, tamagotchis, beanie babies, or crazy bones?

I know it wasn’t my turn to answer jim’s question, but I will anyway.

When I grew up in India, every year during the holy hindu and muslim months, there would be tons of riots on the streets. This ruined the so called ‘sanctity’ of religion and I lost my already weakened beliefs.

Further reading, especially that concerning philosophy dealing with existentialism, heightened my thoughts and feelings about the so called ‘absurdity’ (to throw an existentialist cliche out there) that exists, paired with the many a paradox of existance.

Consider the fact that life started on random chance, and then consider entropy, and you’ll realize that you always make more chaos out of order than vice-versa.

I think analytically, and I can’t have someone tell me something and force me to accept it (I’ve stayed after school to make my teachers run experiments for me haha), just because I love to learn on first hand knowled. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible with religion, and I have converted to becoming a pastafarian in the Church of the flying spaghetti monster.

ALL HAIL FSM!!!

Tamagotchi’s were BY FAR, the most spectacular and best fad ever.
I mean you could kill one of those things, and lo and behold it was an egg again!

Has there been one event, or a series of events in a short time span, that have made you reconsider your goals in life and find purpose in something you hadn’t before?

Ridethecliche, read some Camus, especially The Stranger. Good book.

And no.

Favorite author?

Vonnegut is by far my favourite author.
Haha, you’re a little late. I’ve already read a lot of Camus, Sartre, and then some of Descartes and company.
I actually wrote a paper on the system of justice portrayed in The Stranger, and how that depicted Camus’ beliefs of religion. It was pretty awesome.
Vonnegut picks up where they left off, his books are phenomenal.

What’s your favourite type of cheese?
