One thing good about school- unlimited opportunities for kids to explore

One bad thing - elm food could be better

Homework- highly dependent on the kid. Some spend whole night while others are done in a couple hours

One thing to improve- inconsistent grading among teachers. Science department has done something to address this issue. We will see

I heard that the Math department is also trying to standardize grading. Is this true?

It could be the math department. I just remember seeing the announcement.

DD is pretty independent, so I’m not as close to a lot of things as I should be.

What are they doing, specifically, to standardize the grading?

I don’t remember. I read it somewhere, maybe in an email? Anyways, I have heard there are easy and tough teachers for the same class. Probably true at other schools too.

Revisit days start (there are 4 listed) the last week in March. I’m pretty sure it is still Spring Break for a lot of the BSs.

How many class periods are there for each course in 9th grade? Iif you take the required 5 courses how many hours of instruction are there?
When is PE/athletics held?
Also, What are the 5454 and 4343 schedules?
Is the schedule for week 2 different than week 1? Can you explain?

As a parent, I don’t know the answers to your questions. A student will be able to.

The PE/team practices are in the afternoon, as in all schools. Sometimes in between classes, especially in winter term. Some teams have frequent game days, and it may take an entire day to travel to some schools in CT.

Weekly schedule should be the same. Maybe it’s beginning of the school year when they have certain activities in the first week?

It all varies, but it’s not that important. You get used to it, whatever it is.

Sorry, I just read your message. We decided not to visit the school as our daughter was very sure of her choice. It was not easy to say no to Andover. Hope you had an easier time deciding.

Hi - For Exeter - Are the dorm renovations done for Merrill and Langdell as of May '23. What have students been told from each dorm? I think Langdell was finishing first? Are Merrill students staying in the temp solution for another year?
