<p>hello, i have a question for you…ok, im a freshman in a 4 year liberal arts college - gettysburg, but im not really liking it. i want to transfer to a more academically challenging school, eg mt holyoke, but i feel really bad about the decision because I have a good fin aid package here at gburg and because i have gotten involved in many activities. however i do not always feel academically challenged, or let me say, the environment is not academically stimulating as i would want it. also, i feel as though the college setting is too rural for me…i dont really like it. i really want to go to mt holyoke college, its a much stronger school academically and it has a 5 college consortium so i will have more options to choose from in terms of courses.
So, to my point, when is the best time to apply for transfer - a student entering fall sophomore semester? spring semester? should i build up my GPA over the next couple of semesters? (3 semesters and then apply?)
also i have a 3.83 gpa, is that good enough for mhc? i need a lot of financial aid so is it better to apply for fall semester when the financial year for colleges begins? please help, im so confused about what to do.
Also, one last thing, i feel as though MHC has better internship and job opportunities for its graduates as it is an academic school. am i right in this regard? i want to go where i have a good chance of getting into more competitive firms…sorry for the long post, i got lots to ask</p>
