Ask Joli.Hauteur A Question!

When is your birthday?

PM (:

Why not ?

Because I said so.

Why do you say so?

Why do you say so?

Because I am the queen of this thread, duh.

Someone ask me to tell the Homecoming Queen story. It is pitifully hilarious. Only more hilarious than pitiful.

Only if you tell me why you say so.

Are you clumsy?

Will you tell me the homecoming queen story?

Is it silly that we practically did a 180 in under an hour?

Are you clumsy?

No, except for the other day, on the ice, at 5 AM, in my UGGs and workout shorts.

Oh, it was painful. But I don’t want to talk about it.

Will you tell me the homecoming queen story?

Yes! Hahaha. Okay.

The Homecoming Queen Story

So, in my school, Homecoming is in late October. And royalty is kind of a big deal. Each class nominates for prince and princess of their class, and then the whole school nominates for queen and king (seniors). I’d never been nominated before because football games and blahblahblah really aren’t my thing, and it’s literally a “popularity contest” because it’s all based on who knows your name. But anyway, to my surprise, I got nominated for Homecoming Queen.

When I saw the ballot I was like, oooh! But then I realized I really, really didn’t want the responsibility. You have to be in the parade (I’d already done parades for the pageant, I didn’t need to do another one) and you have to go to the homecoming game and the dance (I didn’t want to go to either). So I was like…shoot. Plus, the crown they ordered was really ugly. It had red rhinestones in it. Yech.

Anyway, so, everyone voted and the assembly where royalty is announced came. And I did end up losing…but my adviser, who counted the votes, said I lost by 5 votes. Hahahahahaha.

But I had planned my “walk out” song, regardless of whether or not I won. It was the Jawbreaker “famous strut” song by Imperial Teen. Hahaha, it would’ve been so perfect. Except the royalty assembly was really lame and tacky this year. I would’ve been so p-ssed with how it turned out.

Is it silly that we practically did a 180 in under an hour?

Yes, hehe.

Would that story have shocked me if I read it around the 20th of December?

Are you a funny one?

Would that story have shocked me if I read it around the 20th of December?

Yes? What. Why?

Are you a funny one?

Yes!

Is it because the first paragraph would be challenging to a certain old prejudice?

Is it because the first paragraph would be challenging to a certain old prejudice?

Omgosh, shut up. You knowww I’m not “like that.”

“Knowww” not “knewww,” right?

Would you like to know something about my voice that I may have already told you?

“Knowww” not “knewww,” right?

Haha. Yes. That story probably would’ve been a major eyeroll for you a month ago. But now its just charming, right?

Would you like to know something about my voice that I may have already told you?

Yes. Immediately.

Is my voice apparently noticeably deeper when I speak French?

And even deeper in Spanish?

Can I not figure out why?

Is my voice apparently noticeably deeper when I speak French?

That’s odd.

And even deeper in Spanish?

I can see that. Mine is higher and more obnoxious. My friends still beg me to say “Que paso ayer?!” Because I did this ridiculous thing during a dialogue last year. I’ll show you at some point.

Can I not figure out why?

Nope. Don’t bother. Just let it be.

Are you whispering words of wisdom?

Do I feel extra left out because I only know Latin?

Can I sort of read other languages and speak a smattering?

Is smattering a cool word?

Are you whispering words of wisdom?

Mmmm.

Do I feel extra left out because I only know Latin?

Yes.

Can I sort of read other languages and speak a smattering?

Yes.

Is smattering a cool word?

No, gross.

Are you jealous?

Did I just French braid my hair?

But it’s sort of loose, right?
