Ask Joli.Hauteur A Question!

Do you feel safe?

Yes.

Are you in constant fear of being bitten?

Oh, of course.

By who?

Boys with names that are hard to pronounce.

Is she his half-sister?

She? Ew.

Do you like milk?

You know, not really. I like it on my cereal, and with really exquisite homemade cookies sometimes, but normally…no.

Skim milk or homo milk?

Haha, SKIM. Shut up.

Can you read minds?

Nooo. And I don’t want to.

Is that silly because minds aren’t books?

Hehe, yes.

Does George Bush bite people?

Oh George Bush…in a way, he does.

Are you sure?

Yes.

Does Franz Kafka bite people?

HAHA. Oh, don’t talk Kafka with meee.

Should he be discarded?

Along with the rest of them? Prossibly.

Are you a technodork?

No, I aspire to be, though. I want to be really good at “hooking things up” at some point. So I don’t have to rely on the savvy’ness of others.

What does that even mean?

Ehm. Technodork = really talented with complicated technological stuffs.

Will you say goodbye?

I will, because I should’ve started cleaning long ago. Sigh.

I’m short (63 inches… sigh), and clumsy. Hmm.
I don’t really look as if I’m clumsy- it’s not as if I flop all over the place- but I am.

Is it strange that I wrote “63 inches?”

Is it strange that I wrote “63 inches?”

A little strange. But 60 inches is an easy reference, so no big.

I was 63 inches tall when I was about 10 years old.

I lived a hard-knock life, I know.

I was also 63 inches in 5th grade.

Why do people like tallness?

Why do people like tallness?

Because tallness = power, dominance, success, attractiveness…

Okay, so those are all subjective, but I don’t know…in the US, at least, I believe its just more respectable to be tall. If I were a short curly-haired girl with a high voice, I would probably fail. A lot.

I would be a joke, actually. Oh no…but I guess people like tallness because its synonymous with respect, commonly.

where should i go for college?

where is rocker going to college?

is rocker going to go to the same college as you?

should i go to states for college or just stay in canada for university?

where should i go for college?

Hah-vahd.

where is rocker going to college?

He’s going to be a Yalie.

is rocker going to go to the same college as you?

No, but I wish I could go to the same school as him. Not just for him though, don’t get excited.

should i go to states for college or just stay in canada for university?

Come to the US (:

What is your opinion of Harvard? Yale? Jello?

If you had to live in a foreign country (that doesn’t speak English) for a year, what country would you live in?

do you speak any other languages?

is “hah-vahd” what i think it is?

do you really think i would fit into those schools?

do you think i even have a chance of getting in?

is rocker already accepted to yale?

which year is he?

so you like yale?

why didn’t you apply?

how much did you application fees end up costing in total?

**What is your opinion of Harvard? **

Prestigious.

**Yale? **

Okay, my main association with Yale is that the most perfect man I have ever met goes there. He’s…oh. He’s a junior now, and I met him when I was like, 16.

Anyway, irrelevant information. But my opinion is that Yale is prestigious, too, except I know that they have more attractive males because of that one who attends.

Jello?

Pig/horse hooves.

If you had to live in a foreign country (that doesn’t speak English) for a year, what country would you live in?

Obviously France. Possibly Russia or maybe Norway.

can you be suceesful without going to an ivy? (including stanford, MIT, cal tech etc.)

do you speak any other languages?

No, but I will!

is “hah-vahd” what i think it is?

Yes.

do you really think i would fit into those schools?

I don’t know you.

do you think i even have a chance of getting in?

Sure. Just remember to be brilliant. And have a gimmick.

is rocker already accepted to yale?

I don’t think so, but I speak positively about his future attendance there because I have faith in him.

which year is he?

I believe he’s a senior in high school.

so you like yale?

Yes.

why didn’t you apply?

I would never get in. I won’t kid myself, its the truth. Why would I waste my time?

how much did you application fees end up costing in total?

Fee waivers, doll. Fee waivers. And QuestBridge. So basically all I’ve had to pay for are SAT/ACT tests/score reports and the CSS PROFILE. And its a good thing, because 11 schools x $55ish/school = $605.

can you be suceesful without going to an ivy? (including stanford, MIT, cal tech etc.)

Of course. I plan to be incredibly successful, even if I end up at a “lame” private school, or a state school. Success is you, not your college.

fee waivers? but won’t you have less chance of getting in?

should i use fee waivers?

why are the school app fees that 'm looking for all $70+ while yours is 55?

don’t I hate the “H-bomb”?

fee waivers? but won’t you have less chance of getting in?

LMAO. No! Hahahaha.

should i use fee waivers?

If you qualify.

why are the school app fees that 'm looking for all $70+ while yours is 55?

$55 was average, some where $35, others were $80. It varies.

don’t I hate the “H-bomb”?

Maybe?

11 schools? Damn. I’m sorry. That must have been horrible (all of those supplements! Gah!)
I only applied to five.

When I apply to college I think my guidance counselor is going to have a fit.

George or Oscar?

Is it a bad idea to screw off all my apps?

(Obviously George)

Well, I feel like I was kind of smart about it…I looked at every essay prompt ahead of time, and wrote several of essays I could reuse. So I had basically three personal statements that were slightly different topics, and one of the three worked for each school. Same with short essays on diversity/my favorite EC, I reused.

The only annoying essays were the “Why _______?” ones, of which could obviously not be directly reused, haha. But it was a pain…everyone at my school thinks I’m crazy, because most of them either don’t apply at all or they only apply to 1-2. Eh. I needed options.

George or Oscar?

I don’t know who you’re referring to, if you had said Felix or Oscar? I would’ve said Felix, if that’s worth anything.

Is it a bad idea to screw off all my apps?

YES! Don’t do it, Sheedy.

Bluth.

I reused my essays, too… even my “Why —?” ones.
I actually ended up using my “Why UChicago?” one for Brown, which is kind of strange, since the two schools are kind of polar opposites. I just replaced “UChicago” with “Brown” and “the Core” with “the New Curriculum.”

Haha. Poor Brown admissions officers… I illustrated my long essay and completely slacked off on the “Why Brown?” essay.

Yes, you heard me correctly. I illustrated it. I included pictures of toast, a trapeze artist, and a social gaffe. Whoo.

Will I regret half-assing my Brown application three months from now?
