Ask me anything about Business at UCI - internships, clubs, majors, etc.

Good thing I’m done with finals already :).

Marketing sounds like a more desirable career bc it doesn’t seem as stressful and demanding as ibanking.
So my question is do you have to get an mba to become a brand/product manager?

A: it depends on the company. The traditional brand companies like Kellogg, P&G, etc do recruit most of their assistant brand managers and product managers from the Northwesterns of the world.

However, that doesn’t mean that you need to get an MBA to get there. You can find a smaller company and work in marketing pretty easily at financial, sports, and entertainment companies. Marketing is so broad that you can find your start anywhere.

Do yourelf justice and do your research on the industry and job description. www.wetfeet.com is a great place to start.
