Ask questions about Emory here

@divaane: I feel like that’s generally how private schools are to some extent, however Emory is not one of the worst ones when it comes to that (we don’t have much preppiness or “snootiness”). Also, Emory is not really a “southern” at all. I don’t know how anyone still buys or believes that (this is not Wake Forest, Chapel Hill or Vanderbilt, and even Vanderbilt other than its architecture and “atmosphere” I guess, is hardly southern demographically). The vast majority are from outside of the southeast. A huge chunk are international (I think a higher percentage than other selective schools) and the mid-Atlantic. Seriously, here is a geographic breakdown, because I need not provide my thoughts other than Emory simply being a school located in the south (without remotely having a southern feel, except all the green space!): <a href=“Facts and Stats | Emory University | Atlanta GA”>http://apply.emory.edu/discover/fastfacts.php</a></p>

Congratulations, you, from New England, composed a higher share of the incoming class than the year before. There were also more “westerners”(lol) than before. Also note that Atlanta is part of the “new south” so will feel a bit different from other southeastern cities outside of Florida.
