Assault claimed at Naval Academy

There are some here who would accuse me of that, as well. ;)

I am all for a heated debate, and I have both started and participated in my fair share, but I have also realized that a) I am most likely not going to convince someone who is not open to being convinced, and b) this is probably not the place to do it anyway. Sadly, this place does not have a GD forum that is limited to the USxA folks. The other place does, and specifically for that reason.

I admire the combatants in this thread, having been in contact with them for a long time (years now, in fact). The only thing I regret about my post above is not having included a smiley, as it could be interpreted as having been much more harsh of a rebuke than it was intended to be.

Oh well. Live and learn…

2011, it’s been a while since I’ve been on here with anything resembling regularity, so please forgive me for not recalling if you are Candidate, Mid or the parent of one. If the latter, then I have littel to offer. If the former, you will come to learn that passions run deep among parents and Alumni, although for different reasons. Doesn’t make the people wrong or evil, it’s just the way it is.

I’d take anyone in this forum (yes, ANYONE) into any USNA organization I was in on two conditions: Love of country and love of USNA/USN. That’s all that matters.

Within that scope, some bitter bare-knuckled brawls can and have occurred, but it’s almost universally understood to be within “The Family”.
