<p>Arizonagirl, in the early 80’s when your source was declaring UA a public ivy, the bottom of my high school’s classes, who did not have a prayer of going to a top or mid tier UC, often headed to UA. It was known to have great parties with little required academically.</p>
<p>No, I personally never took a class there and I’m sure it has many strengths. But to call it comparable to top state U’s is simply ridiculous by any measure I can think of.</p>
