““excited” is moving on with your life enjoying the break until decision day comes your way. worrying and going as far as to confirm the exact time of day at which decisions arrive? well that’s what some might call “obsessive”. These threads about “is it March 31 or April 1rst?” are ridiculous enough, but going out of your way to find out the exact time the mail goes out of the office? Well that’s something else. What don’t we try and predict the traffic and weather on decision day to find out how long it will take the mailmen to walk up to our homes? And then, how much our mailbox flaps weigh to fine tune our approximations to the decimal? Heck why don’t we stalk our mailmen to ensure they stop by our house first? As enjoyable as this may seem, it is not the healthiest way to spend your final months of senior year. Go outside, play with friends, and enjoy the college process to the extent that it doesn’t superimplode your cortisol levels.”

And you my friend, are obsessively defensive about others’ obsessive excitement (i.e. sounds like someone is overcompensating).
