Thumper, I don’t think the Abbey exists any more–it was THE place back in 1979 when I firstmoved here, but in the last 30 plus years, there are so many truly fabulous restaurants that it’s impossible to keep up.

The easiest way to find what you want is to check Opentable dot com for a comprehensive list, plus user reviews of hundreds of restaurants in the city.

Never heard of the Abbey, but I’m only 17, so that could be why lol. If you come to Atlanta, you must and I mean must try Davio’s at Phipps Plaza. A little bit pricey (but aren’t all “nice” restaurants) but it is sure worth every penny.

Future Weatherman, I respectfully disagree about Davio’s–IMHO it’s expensive but nothing special, compared to Atlanta’s many other fine restaurants. Sorry :)

Okay dg, we all have differing views on food, eh? No hard feelings :)

Maggiano’s or Ruth’s Chris are good as well, after that, for me at least, I’ll just pick some of the smaller but decent restaurants around town.
