update–H finally got the sleep study last night. Big surprise–he has apnea! (as the technician told him–“the wife always knows” lol). Now just have to wait, again, for appt to get official diagnosis from doctor to get appt to get fitted for CPAP. Sigh. But, it’s progress, and hopefully this will move him towards getting off the meds.
Those CHAD scoring model recommendations seem rather extreme – besides everyone over 75 being recommended for blood thinners, every woman over 65 with high blood pressure is also recommended for them. Does that include women whose HBP is well-controlled on medication?
Realize the CHAD score recommendation is for people with diagnosed Atrial Fib, not the population at large. Add on more risk factors, risk of stroke increases.
