how do ppl get sat scores <2100, all you need to do is study like **** and do the problems in the blue book?

I consider myself below average for this website but just slightly above average for everyone. I’m Hispanic with 1720/ 2400 & 1140/1600 SAT scores and a 25 ACT. I’m in the top 14% of my class (95/683) with an UW gpa of 3.4 and a W gpa of 4.2 I took around 7 Pre-Ap classes & 6 APs (all this year). Who knows what will happen. I applied to 4 schools (U of H, UT, TAMU & Texas Tech). Maybe I’ll apply to U of Washington and some other school since I have some fee waivers… But I don’t really know. Anyways, chances?

Are most of the students in this range still taking many AP and Honors classes? I have a 3.5 UW, a 2060 on SAT I, 750 and 710 on SAT II while taking a total of 5 Honors and 4 APs. My test scores are slightly higher than most with people of my GPA, so i dont know where I fall. My W GPA is around a 3.7ish by the way. I’m more worried because besides jazz band I’m mainly off record for extra curriculars
I got a B+ in AP chem B+ in AP world. Taking APC physics next year (took honors this year) AP AB Calc next year, and AP Gov. next year.
My school does the common app through Naviance…any advice on that?
I’m in-state looking to get into mechanical engineering at Purdue University, any help on chances or tips would be awesome! Thanks to all!

Motörhead , i would say you have a solid chance considering there sat range transfers from the act range of 28-32 to about 1920-2210 and your Gpa falls right in line, I wouldn’t worry to much about ECs with purdue as from what I have seen they are a numbers school, they are typically more lenient with admissions versus say UIUC but just keep in mind it’s very hard to graduate in four years there! I have similair stats except I have great ECs and volunteer hours! Just speaking from hours of reading reviews and CC posts! Write a kick a** essay and get great letters and you should have a good shot…sorry very long post lol first one

thats a match for everywhere i think
