<p>Ooh I forgot about Still Alice. another that was highly discussed The American Wife. fiction loosely based on Laura Bush. Lots of great dscussion. fascinating book. I still remember reading the part that basically said " I didn’t elect him I just married him". Huh…</p>
<p>I know I have strange reading habits but these are books I liked</p>
<p>The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach, has a great companion article in Vanity Fair which you can buy as a Kindle single.
In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larsen, non fiction but is an easy read.</p>
<p>i liked The Art of Fielding, too. i’ll have to look for that vanity fair article. </p>
<p>i thought it was a very enjoyable yet haven’t really recommended it–not sure how to describe it…when you try to explain the book it sounds so dull, but it really wasn’t.</p>
<p>right now i’m reading The Night Circus–I’m early into the book and it seems to be jumping all over the place–hopefully I can keep everything straight!</p>

<p>Cant offer up any more books than what has already been mentioned, we’ve done many of those. But I feel for you, I get so nervous when its my turn to offer up book selections and then host the meeting. In fact tonights my turn. Despite the anxieties- I really enjoy the book club. I often wonder why they chose me but perhaps I’m comic relief!?</p>
<p>I just finished “This is Where I leave you” by Jonathan Tropper. Great read about family relationships (explored when four grown-apart siblings sit shiva for their father). Highly recommend. The next book on my nightstand is called “Room” because a friend of mine just finished it and loved it.</p>
<p>Our book group mostly meets in coffee shops, so no pressure. I am in the same book group that read the Red Tent. That was a lively discussion. 
We have been meeting for about 10? years or so, but with a core group of five and about 4 members that come every other meeting ( we meet every month)
Other books we have recently enjoyed- Whistling Season by Ivan Doig, Secret Son by Laila Lalami & The Septembers of Shiraz by Dalia Sofer.</p>
