Au pairs

<p>Spent the day with her touring her city. Will meet up again for dinnerr tonight. What an impressive woman she has begun. We re honored to have had her join our family, if even only for a year.</p>

<p>I can’t decide whether to post this here, or the Downton Abbey thread.</p>

<p>We were living in Europe when S was born. Our first nanny was a Scottish woman whose previous job happened to be with a British family in the city we lived in, so we found her via the local newspaper. She was great and had attended a “nanny school” in Scotland. When she left, we wanted to try to find another Scottish nanny with that training, and she told us the place to advertise was a UK magazine called The Lady. This is the same magazine that Cora advertised in to find a new ladies maid.</p>

<p>Replacement was OK, until she left without notice and went home. We learned from her friend that she was pregnant. </p>
