Austin College JanTerm courses

D24 applied to and got accepted to Austin College. We’re going on another visit in a couple of weeks. This past week, D24 got some mail from them with a list of all of their “JanTerm” courses…a 3-week class in January, where you take ONLY that class. Freshmen must take an on-campus class. Sophomores on up can choose a travel course instead if they want (extra cost associated with this option). The other 2 LACs that D24 applied to have 3-week January terms like this.

I’m sharing the list here in case anybody finds it helpful or interesting.

My DD22 is a sophomore there currently. She just returned from the Coffee Culture trip in Vienna and Paris. She loved it! The housing for the Paris portion was a bit tight but they stayed in the center of Paris and that is how Europe is. She loves AC. My DS24 thinks it is too small but they wanted different things in a college experience.

And for future students - if you visit during one of their Roo Days during a JanTerm you can sit in on a class. That is what sold my DD on going there.
