Our phone/internet/cable bill is also around $200 per month depending on if we rent a movie or two. I tried to negotiate a reduced rate again but the woman stuck to her guns and said “no rate reduction for you” or words to that effect. The problem is we only have one cable tv provider in our small town and Verizon Fios etc. aren’t interested in coming in. I would love to reduce this so I could afford my own cell phone.
I will be looking at Verizon Fios. They are connected here in my area. I am also toying with the idea of getting rid of the landline, but the cell phone service in my house is kind of sucky so I’d prefer not to do that.
My home internet/cable is around $150 with Time Warner. I have whole house DVR, a sports package and HBO.
Home phone is with my cell phone carrier - Verizon wireless. It’s only an extra $10.
TBH, now that I don’t have college tuition and S is pretty much self sufficient (I only pay his car insurance and cell phone) I can’t be bothered sweating the small stuff anymore. Not going to change my lifestyle if I pay a bit more for these things.
My tank was also filled…but we used far less oil than last year…we only got 150 gallons. That leaves 850 for,the rest of the winter. We prepaid at $2.59 a gallon.
Agree! My last delivery was in July and is also heat and hot water. I expect next delivery won’t be bad either since it’s still so warm and long range is looking good too.
Probably because I splurged on a Canada Goose down coat, I expect our winter to be unseasonably mild.
Got a delivery last week at $1.839 per gallon. We saved $250 if you compare this to last year’s prices. Our oil prices have dropped 50 cents per gallon since August.
I may have the tank topped off in the late spring if oil prices stay below $2.50 per gallon.
We got ours this morning too. 167 gallons @$1.99. What we’ve paid in total for oil the last 3 months, given the lower price and higher temps, we paid in 1 month in a winter with higher oil prices and colder temps. I’m happy.
My oil company just dropped my budget payment from $209/month to $156/month. I also still have a $550 credit. I figure only one more fill up this season - likely end of this month so I still will be way ahead. And tomorrow supposed to be 70 in Albany!
can’t answer the OP’s question but Wifey recently paid our gas bill for February and it was waaaaay lower than the past 20 years because … we are empty nesters and there are no kids at home requiring heat during the day!
