<p>That was straight from the residence coordinator for McCollum and Rogers last year during the start of year meeting. The reasoning given was because most of the west side buildings looked like sore thumbs. </p>

<p>That spiel though wasn’t used this year at that meeting so I don’t know if it’s still used or if we’re just expected to know it. It doesn’t really matter- I’ve lived on campus now for 3 years and I haven’t encountered anyone that wanted to do the stupid little gesture and sound.</p>
