That immediately made me think of glue. Which brings up an interesting question: do people generally eliminate brand names from their list of potential name choices (like in Germany!), if nothing else to eliminate teasing in school?

Apparently German naming traditions and regulations are somewhat complicated around the surname prohibition.

Would Ryan Nolan or Nolan Ryan be an allowed baby name in Germany?

No, there are a lot of Mercedes, Lexis(Lexus), Levi, Axel (Axe, Ax) and many named after songs, liquors, jewelry/jewelry stores running around. In the town I grew up in there was a Robby’s hamburger stand and my brother was named Robby.
