Baltimore Inner Harbor trip

Little Italy is near the Inner Harbor, and Amicci’s is our favorite Italian restaurant. There are many hotels Near the Inner harbor, and whichever is cheapest on Kayak or Tripadvisor or whatever should be fine. The BMA (Baltimore Museum of Art?) is also nice, and is on the edge of the Johns Hopkins campus. At some points the summer they have restaurant week, where restaurants have set menus and special prices. I hope it’s a fun trip.

Inner Harbor area is lovely , but be careful to wander too far away from there. There are some pretty sketchy areas not too far from there

Good to know Lje, but at least in that area, both are well prepared. My daughter is a black belt in karate and her dad is a 3rd degree black belt in karate and is also an instructor. I pity the kid who tries some nonsense on them.

disclaimer, haven’t read the whole thread…

D lives in Fed Hill so we venture down to see her now and again. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the quality/price of the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court…it’s directly across from the harbor (and for us, fairly convenient to her apartment)

Yum, I’ll second that. Also…Verde is one of D’s favorites. Gourmet pizza. She took us there one time and we all LOVED it.

Seconding Lergnom’s suggestion of the http://www.avam.org/</a> Love that place!!!

Thanks for the latest recommendations! I’ll pass them along to DH and D.

For years we used the Days Inn Inner Harbor Hotel on 100 Hopkins Place 410-576-1000 Reasonable price (for the Harbor anyway), centrally located , safe and clean. Has anyone mentioned the wonderful food trucks? A wonderful lunch time experience!

I recently stayed at this Fairfield Inn–it was nicer than the average. <a href=“Inner Harbor Hotels | Fairfield Inn & Suites Baltimore Downtown/Inner Harbor”>http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bwifh-fairfield-inn-and-suites-baltimore-downtown-inner-harbor</a></p>

If you’re interested in going to the aquarium, they’re doing discounted $18.12 admission on Fridays after 5 until September for the War of 1812 celebration

You might want to visit one of Baltimore’s old markets. There’s one downtown, one on Federal Hill, one in Fells Point, and a few others. Lots of food and drink inside!

D lives very close to Cross Street Market, it’s really kinda cool.

Her old apartment was close to Lexington Market, which seems to be a known hangout for drug addicts, etc. Not too safe…

soccergurl - thanks so much for that tip!!!
l had read that they sometimes do a discount on Fri night but I could not find anything that indicated that they were offering one this summer. I’ll definitely be calling to get the specifics on this.

Ok, a bit of time googling this and I found it on the aquarium’s website. Why I couldn’t find this the first time I went there I have no idea! This will certainly alter when the go visit the aquarium.
