Look at videos on youtube… there are so many that students have made that show a closer look at their lives. Read all the review comments you can at niche and similar sites. You have to take some of them with a grain of salt, but you’ll learn what generally students love and don’t love. If you do that for the colleges on your list, you’ll have a good comparison. Specific to Barnard, you need to be comfortable in a city, with lots of people around, and on a smaller campus.
