<p>Sorry but you misread the message from the Chancellor’s Office. The advisers are not undergraduates - they are professional staff and faculty advisers who are employed to advise undergraduates. The department to which you refer (Economics) has three staff advisers (two are full time) as well as one faculty member whose job is to advise undergraduates. This departmental presence in advising is supplemented by an office in the College of Letters and Science which has five faculty advisers (a dean, associate dean, and three assistant deans) as well as 12 full time advising staff.
