Yeah, those backs definitely get you. One of the guys that could be in four this fall tore a disc in his back which is not putting pressure on the cystic (sp?) nerve. He’s out and right now they are trying to get him cleared for sea. I’ve been rowing with him since Plebe year. I’ve had my fair amount of back issues also.

I know what you’re saying about holding our own. I think we have like 4 maybe 5 rowers (varsity and novice) that rowed before here.

With the spring, we have spring training to get back in rowing shape and get some water time since the Long Island Sound is not forgiving in March and April (or this fall for that matter).

We are not making it up to Shelton. The whole money issue is definitely putting a big damper on where we go. We were there last year and yeah that was a frustrating race. We got a bunch of seaweed (kelp…whatever it is) stuck on our rudder steering us in the port direction and ended up snapping the nylon line and we had to finish the last 750 or so with us ports rowing harder…not fun. CGA definitely thought that Mystic last year was a fluke because of that. Then we proved everyone wrong by only getting beat out by Michigan and University of British Columbia at the Charles. We led till the last split…which made us really mad. But maybe, I’ll run into you at the Charles.
