<p>Interesting…I am a teacher in a state where teachers do not contribute to social security but MUST contribute to the state teachers retirement. How does the fafsa deal with this situation?</p>
<p>I am guessing that “forced contributions” to retirement are excluded as they are not available for you to spend as income.</p>
