Behind the 8 ball at your school choice before you start?

<p>I think it’s impt to keep in mind that most of what we’re discussing are marketing tools. It’s like Honda adding a few more trappings to their car that competes with a best selling Toyota model to get you to buy it instead.</p>

<p>I turned down merit aid from a very top college, but I was
impressed by how hard they tried. I never lost sight of the fact that the schools that want you most want you for their own benefit. They think you will be a star. </p>

<p>I went to a HS where almost everyone was a top student. It was much better for me than being at the top of the public school system I was always top in. My growth was much greater. I didn’t want to sign up to be any college’s big fish.</p>

<p>In the end I kept my focus on desired outcome and the college decision was clear. No merit $$ or special perks (other than the big $450 less self help!!) but the alumni network I want and internship opportunities especially. I’m using the network and I havn’t started yet!</p>
