Since the 2004 “Harvard incident” greater attention has been given to Black immigrants in higher education due to data illustrating that the educational achievement for some Black immigrant groups surpass that of all other immigrant groups as well as that of native-born Blacks and in some instances, native-born Whites (In Educational Attainment, 2003; Rong & Brown, 2001; Stepkick & Stepkick, 2003).
