Here’s a copy and paste of a facebook note I wrote for my friends concerning AP Euro:

Essential Four:

AP Achiever McGraw-Hill Study Guide - This study book is excellent in all respects: [Amazon.com: AP Achiever (Advanced Placement* Exam Preparation Guide) for European History (College Test Prep): Chris Freiler: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Achiever-Advanced-Placement-Preparation-European/dp/0073256722)
The review is terrific, the practice questions are spot-on, and the wording isn’t boring or hard to follow. I used it as a textbook replacement because the textbook is really hard to understand… there is too much excess detail and terrible chronology. The best way to go though would be to read the textbook chapter and supplement it with the study book.
I highly recommend you order it. It’s not available in stores, but you can find it on any bookstore website. I will leave my copy of it with someone next year (bonus margin scribblings! Any takers?).

[Hank’s History Hour](http://hankshistoryhour.com/)
Hank Nelson is my hero and I completely and wholeheartedly recommend him for anyone. I found it very good to study by taking notes while listening, not breaking away to do something else as I normally would. He’s amazing, you’ll see.

AP Central Released Essays -
[AP Central - The AP European History Exam](<a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board)
Official AP site with previous free response releases… not only does it have scoring guidelines and examples, but also complete lists of facts and explanations about all the questions! Terrific for understanding specific topics better and in the context the CollegeBoard expects to test.

Skeletal outline of our McKay textbook
[AP Euro McKay Outline](http://www.scribd.com/doc/6532/AP-Euro-McKay-Outline)
A good tool for reading for those of us who need a little structure for the content of those endless pages. Really, you should read the textbook.

A few miscellaneous sites, also helpful:

http://www.angelfire.com/fl4/ap/reviewques.html
[Advanced Placement (AP) European History](http://highschoolsurvivalguide.com/APEuro.html) <— has some good links for other sites and has good general info about test format and techniques.
[Dr. Sanderson’s History Classes](http://www.angelfire.com/tx/sandersonAP/) <– the notes on the left-hand bar are very useful.
This Dr. Sanderson does podcasts too, in the spirit of Hank… except he’s boring. Only resort to Sanderson podcasts for desperate Cold War and Nationalism, which Hank never posted because he was busy with track season. Otherwise, avoid listening to Sanderson - just read him.

And… I believe those are the chief resources that helped me through this year. Hope you can get something out of it!

Make sure to mark and count up the questions you skipped and the ones you think you got wrong. So when you’re done beasting the test (or otherwise feel like you failed miserably…), here’s something that can surprisingly make you feel better: [AP European History Exam Grade Calculator](http://tech-shep.com/Calculate/APEuroGrade.php)
