<p>The brain teaser wooden puzzles from the dollar store were a huge hit.</p>
<p>My daughter gave me pink and gray jammies to match the headgear for my ventilator.

<p>I love reading about these thoughtful and/or creative gifts. My most special gift wasn’t really a gift and probably wasn’t even aimed at me. On Christmas eve, my former sister-in-law came to our family church with my adult nephew and sat with our extended family. Her daughter, my niece, arrived later and also sat with us. Before my brother died last summer, his ex-wife had spent a week at his house with their 4 kids and their spouses and three grandchildren. At the funeral, she was civil but not friendly. There was plenty of reason for bad feelings on both sides (she left my brother and their kids for a man her daughter’s age) but for the sake of my nieces and nephew who are really having a tough time missing their father, I want us to all get along. For one hour at least, we all tried to be a family again.</p>
<p>I wouldn’t say these were the biggest hits ever, but this went down surprisingly well in my house. I got 8 assorted leather look jackets from Macy’s and Penneys. They were really nice looking, soft, with hoods (and on mega sale). I put them all in a box and gave my sons and husband the choice of any one them. Amazingly, they fit really well, and they all found at least one that they liked. Will return the rest.</p>
<p>Might I mention that we are not a clothes hound (or even interested) family, they generally could care less. But these jackets look really nice on all of them. I can’t believe they fit and look so good. I really thought they might all be rejected!</p>
<p>Our surprise big hit was a set of various hot sauces for my fiance’s brother. He had a couple things on his list that he had asked for specifically, but this was a surprise and he spent the entire night admiring his sauces. We had no clue he would be that enamored!</p>
