I’ve heard that adopted greyhounds are very quiet mild mannered dogs that are content to lay around the house and nap. Our backdoor neighbors have two adoopted greyhounds. Even when the dogs are let out in the backyard, they are very docile…no rampaging across the yard barking their heads off.

I will second post #4: an older dog that is in need of a new home. In the 25-40 pound range, there are lots of nice breeds and lots of nice mixes. I’m partial to poodles, and I know many quiet and affectionate miniature poodles (15-20 pounds) and a few quiet standard poodles (35-60 pounds). The fancy haircut is optional; poodles can be clipped easily into a low-maintenance “kennel clip.”

NOT a corgi. Ours needs lots of exercise. Also, she tries to herd us and is small enough to not be seen underfoot so there is high tripping risk. Finally, when she is hungry, she tries to tackle us by throwing her stumpy little body full speed at the closest human’s knees. Good thing she is so darn cute…

^^^ ok that made me laugh. mnmomof2…I have two corgis so I get that food obsessed trick. They may be small, but they are determined little buggers when it comes to food and they are strong ! Mine are pretty gentle with my mother , but I am careful with them near her

I see we’ve come full circle back to the Boston Terrier! Right size, doesn’t need a lot of exercise, doesn’t chew things up, quiet, very little odor and sheds very little. Perfect!

I always associated them with elderly people - before I got one.

Here is a dog I know nothing about other than they are very cute :
French Bulldogs :)

Oops - I lied when I said Boston’s have very little odor. They have little odor from their coats. They have lots of odor by way of gaseous emissions, but that’s part of their charm.

lje, I’m very glad that you like the litterbox! Very few people in my life take my advice on anything I say, so it is rewarding that one time someone did and it worked out well for them. Thanks for letting me know.
