Physics or Astronomy! If you can take either with Prof. Werner Dappen (who is the chair of the department of Physics and Astronomy) you will have one of the most enjoyable class experiences in the GE program. I am a liberal arts major, not necessarily a “science” person - but I took GE Physics (I think its called “The Physical World” or something), and there was minimal math - only stuff you should have learned in basic high school - the lectures were comprehensible, and the weekly homework could be completed while reading the chapter each week. It is designed 100% for “non-science background” people. If you like a class with predictable structure, and lots of opportunities to earn grade credit toward an A (meaning there is lots of “best 4 of 5 homeworks” situations), then I would recommend either. I went back and took Astronomy as an elective because Professor Dappen was such a good, personable professor.
