Best High Schools in Pittsburgh/Cleveland?

You forgot about Peters Township School district. Typically one of the top in the state along with the other South Hills Schools of Mt Lebanon and Upper St Clair.

Private… Hmm, I went to a Winchester Thurston open house with my friend once. While the school seemed nice, I thought it was rather… Well, they served bonbons and handed out Teddy bears at open house. shudder I found that it could easily be a snob magnet, but I never really interacted with many students.
Public… My cousin goes to North Hills, and apparently her school is quite a bit behind mine, in math at least, and it is rather, well, big. I go to South Fayette, and while most of the students are sports-oriented, the school itself is pretty good.

The kids I know from Winchester Thurston seem well rounded and very much enjoy their education. Although now coed, Winchester Thurston was historically an all girls school; perhaps this is more an explanation for the bonbons and teddy bears.

The original thread here was dated 2005…that kiddo probably graduated from high school at least a year ago…if not two.
