Best NESCAC (or NESCAC-type schools) for Biology?

There are sooooo many LAC that are great for bio. It’s one of th top majors at almost all colleges. If med school is in your future, you should consider U Rochester, as it is affiliated with two hospitals right next to campus and is very strong in bio. Again, so many schools are good so focus on what you re looking for as an undergrad.

You should check out the new science center at Amherst. It opened this year with state of the art labs and expanded opportunities for research. It’s a stunning space and offers the best facilities among the Nescacs. Williams is planning/building a new science center as well, so I would expect that to be top notch as well.

Wesleyan is the only NESCAC with a separate and distinct Molecular Biology Biochemistry undergraduate major. Very rare.

For questions like this one I always recommend this book:

I believe it covers all the NESCACs as well as many like it. Descriptions are unique and in-depth, with lots of academic focus. My favorite college guide on the planet, despite the fact that I hate the title.

What makes Wesleyan’s CHNOPS program separate and distinct in comparison to biochemistry / molecular biology majors available elsewhere within NESCAC?
