A quick note: many high school/college students are plagued by the unfortunate belief that a person’s undergraduate major determines their career. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. While I may be pursuing a career in government, one friend of mine with a poli sci BA went on to medical school. Another went on to work for Blizzard (the guys who made Warcraft/Starcraft.)

As the previous post mentioned, pretty much all notable universities require SATs or ACTs. This applies to freshmen only though. For transfer students, the best colleges with the best Poli Sci depts that don’t require SATs are all in Washington DC. Gtown, GWU, and American. They all have frequent guest speakers that work locally (Pennsylvania Ave to be specific) and they all have excellent internship opportunities. Plus it is in the epicenter of American politics.
There’s also Tulane. Good Poli Sci dept, no SATs reqd for transferees. It is in New Orleans though. Natural disasters aside, it’s not really in the hub of political activity.

Yes. Note that I did qualify my statement that this only applies to transfer students. For some reason, none of the schools in DC require SATs for transferees.

deserthillsguy, how did you find out that Georgetown transfer app. doesn’t require SATs? I’m an applicant for transfer admissions and I didn’t read anywhere that Georgetown would accept applications w/o SAT scores.

Oops, my bad. After re-reading their website, the qualification is you must be a transfer student out of high school for 5 yrs or more. The other schools have different requirements regarding transferees and SATs. My apologies if I got your hopes up.
